INTRAUTERINE FETAL INFECTION: ITS PATHOPHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISMS, CONSEQUENCES, WAYS OF PREVENTION
Abstract
The innate immunity factors involved in the development of complications, such as habitual miscarriage, fetal growth restriction, and intrauterine infection, are considered. Their role in the formation of local defense and their interaction with the normal vaginal microflora are covered. An understanding of the role of pathophysiological mechanisms implicated in a local immune response in the development of intrauterine infection will be able to improve diagnostic methods and to timely apply a package of preventive measures to reduce obstetric complications.

PREGNANCY IN WOMEN WITH CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE (PART 2)
Abstract
Pregnancy in women with chronic renal failure (CRF) is associated with increased risk of maternal and fetal complications, however, under certain conditions, a favorable outcome of pregnancy in CRF can be achieved. The paper presents the criteria for predicting pregnancy outcome in women with chronic kidney disease (CKD), indications for abortion in kidney diseases, special features of the planning, management of pregnancy and delivery in women with CRF. The importance of a multidisciplinary approach to management of pregnancy in CRF, prevention of complications with early pregnancy and patient compliance were accentuated.

IMPACT OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE THERAPY ON THE PARAMETERS OF VASCULAR WALL STIFFNESS AS A RISK FACTOR OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES
Abstract
The indicators of arterial wall stiffness is an important factor that reflects a risk for cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, and their prognosis. It is important to keep in mind the effects of current groups of antihypertensive drugs on the indicators of arterial wall stiffness since these are potentially associated with the reduced risk of cardiovascular events and better prognosis in hypertensive patients.

CHRONIC HEART FAILURE: MORPHOMETRIC ASPECTS
Abstract
At different levels of the investigation, the author studied the pathomorphology of the heart in 3 types of secondary dilated cardiomyopathies (alcoholic, ischemic, and neuroleptic) at the manifestation stage characterized by obvious chronic heart failure. By this time, the process of cardiac remodeling is already over at the organ level. The progression of myocardial dysfinction is associated with the further progression of myocardial microstructural injuries.

BRONCHOFIBROSCOPY IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF NEONATAL RESPIRATORY TRACT MALFORMATIONS
Abstract
With advances in neonatal care for babies born at early gestational ages, there is an annual increase in the number of patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and its consequences in older age and in those with congenital bronchopulmonary malformations. In this connection, the bronchological methods for diagnosis and treatment, which can reveal anatomic and functional features, increase the scope of practice of pulmonologists and endoscopists. These methods allow for detecting defects and developmental features as soon as possible, which prevents life-threatening complications.

INFLAMMATORY AND METABOLIC PROCESSES IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE
Abstract
The risk factors of atherosclerosis, the blood levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and cytokines (interleukins (IL) -1, -6, -8, and-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were determined in patients with ischemic stroke (IS). The authors analyze whether the above indicators might be correlated with each other and the magnitude of clinical and laboratory parameters, by keeping in mind these parame-ters in a group of healthy individuals. Examining the cytokine system revealed the hyperproduc-tion of pro-inflammatory (IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α) and anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokines. A direct correlation was found between the severity of IS and the level of IL-1 β: the higher the level of a cytokine was, the severer the patient status and the worse the prognosis were.

USE OF -RHYTHM DISPERSION MAPPING IN THE EARLY DETECTION OF MENTAL ILLNESSES
Abstract
The author proposes to include an examination based on a new original electroencephalographic procedure, namely, to determine а-rhythm dispersion coefficients, by making maps, into the standard population follow-up. The found correlations between the maps and clinical evidence allow mental illnesses to be identified at their early stages.
