THE RUSSIAN SPLIT INACTIVATED VACCINE ULTRIX®

Lytkina I., Selkova E.

Abstract

Vaccine prophylaxis of influenza promotes a reduction in its morbidity in Russia, including in Moscow. However, the high incidence of influenza in children and the risk of complications after diseases in people with chronic pathology and in infants suggest the relevance of the problem and the need to design and introduce into practice novel current vaccines, including the Russian split vaccine Ultrix®. By ensuring the elaboration of cellular immunity and having a high profile of safety, immunogenicity, and prophylactic effectiveness, the vaccine may be used to protect people with chronic diseases.

OSTEOPOROSIS AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE: RISK FACTORS, SPECIFIC FEATURES OF ITS COMBINED COURSE

Platltsyna N., Bolotnova T.

Abstract

Osteoporosis (OP) is one of the major diseases concurrent with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); it is frequently undiagnosed and associated with poor health and prognosis. The risk factors and special features of osteopenic syndrome are analyzed in patients with COPD. The high risk of fractures due to the wide spread of risk factors for OP and to a significant reduction in bone mineral density in patients with COPD necessitates the timely diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of osteopenia.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CORRECTION OF LOCAL IMMUNE DISORDERS IN PATIENTS WITH CANDIDA AND MYCOPLASMA GENITOURINARY TRACT INFECTION

Gizinger O.

Abstract

Clinical and immunological examinations were made in 70 reproductive-aged women with laboratorily verified Candida and Mycoplasma infection of the lower genitourinary tract. In addition to clinical changes, the patients were found to have dysfunctions in the cellular components of the innate immunity system: impairments in phagocytic activity and oxygen-dependent metabolism. Incorporation of aminodihydrophthalasinedione sodium (Galavit®) into their combination treatment regimen contributed to more obvious normalization of clinical manifestations and more positive immunological changes than in the comparison group.

Peled N., Palmer G., Hirsch R., Wines M., Illuis M., Varea-Garcia M., Sussan-Gutman L., Otto D., Stivens F., Ross D., Kronin M., Lipson D., Miller V.

Abstract

EML4-ALK gene infusions are detectable in 2-7% of cases of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and generally identified by fluorescence in situ hybridization. The above tumors are susceptible to crizotinib therapy. Genetic sequencing and immunohistochemical staining revealed crizotinib-sensitive ALK translocation in a patient with metastatic NSCLC.

SPECIFIC FEATURES OF TREATMENT FOR DIABETES MELLITUS CONCURRENT WITH PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS

Chobitko V., Kalashnikov A., Maksimova O., Bakhteeva F., Sionskaya D.

Abstract

The concurrence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and pulmonary tuberculosis is more commonly diagnosed in young men; in most cases, carbohydrate metabolic disturbances precede the development of a specific process in the lung. Patients with type 1 DM were recorded to have severe disseminated forms of pulmonary tuberculosis; those with type 2 DM (DM2) were observed to have milder circumscribed forms (tuberculoma, focal tuberculosis) in 20.6% of cases. All patients with DM and pulmonary tuberculosis showed carbohydrate metabolic decompensation; in this connection, DM2 patients previously treated with sugar-lowering medications in tablet form should switch over to insulin treatment and those treated with insulin before hospitalization should increase its average daily dose by 59%.
