Features of the development of cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome
Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most important independent risk factors for cognitive impairment (CN) and dementia. The presence of possible CN or its development in a patient with DM should be taken into account when choosing the right combination therapy. Each patient with DM should be treated individually, by taking into consideration the clinical features and possible complications, as well as the presence of comorbid vascular diseases. When choosing cognitive function-improving drugs, it is necessary to keep in mind their other positive as well as direct effects, their tolerability and the possibility of their safe combination in combination therapy.

Use of muscle relaxants in nonspecific lower back pain
Abstract
The priority in the management of a patient with back pain is its earliest possible relief. It is important to involve the patient in a set of remedial and rehabilitation treatments and to prevent chronic pain syndrome. Factors, such as pain intensity and duration, concomitant diseases, and ongoing therapy tolerability, play a crucial role in the choice of therapy. Muscle relaxants can alleviate or even eliminate excessive muscle tension. Their co-administration with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs makes it possible to lower the dosage of the latter and the risk of side effects.

Cognitive dysfunction in the overexcitation of brain structures
Abstract
The brain memory mechanism is a network of cyclic neural circuits (CNCs). When there is insufficient γ-aminobutyric acid secretion in the brain, many CNCs are switched off from the memory mechanism, which causes cognitive dysfunction. This is one of the causes of memory impairment in AlzheimePs disease and senile dementia of the Alzheimer type.

Biomechanics of the systemic circulation in type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus
Abstract
In type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, the contractility of systemic arterial circulation is impaired, the stiffness of the arterial wall increases, and the pacemaker activity of the heart and its effect on the vascular bed change, which contributes to arterial remodeling.

Hypovitaminosis D and chronic pain
Abstract
Currently, there is a substantial evolution of knowledge about the physiological role of vitamin D. Its receptors are assumed to be involved in the mechanisms of pain generation. There have been a large number of studies revealing the significance of hypovitaminosis D primarily in chronic pain syndromes and diseases, in which musculoskeletal factors are dominant in the formation of pain. The paper highlights the present-day views on the association of pain with vitamin D levels in the body and reviews the studies conducted in this area.

Combination therapy for polyneuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Abstract
The paper provides an overview of the use of metabolic drug cocarnit in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy (DPNP). It considers the pathogenesis of DPNP in light of the development of oxidative stress in diabetes mellitus and the effect of medicines that are contained in cocarnit on its manifestation.

Cellular chronoblockers in multimodal programmes for the prevention of cognitive deficit
Abstract
The paper considers the target points of application of cellular chronoblockers (succinic acid, guarana, taurine, selenium, L-arginine, and ß-alanine) in the multimodal programs to prevent cognitive deficit. It shows the effects of these substances in improving cognitive abilities.

Age-related and situational depression
Abstract
The paper considers age-related and situational depression as a special condition in the anti-aging medicine clinic. It is important that age-related and situational depression is the background for the development of anxiety-depressive syndrome as an individual nosological entity that requires the correction corresponding to the patients status, as well as the follow-up by a psychotherapist or a psychiatrist. The paper presents the questionnaires and scales, which can be used in the anti-aging medicine clinic if anxiety and depression are suspected.

Treatment-induced diabetic neuropathy (Ellenberg syndrome)
Abstract
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is the most common complication associated with diabetes mellitus, which is represented by heterogeneous conditions that differ in the site of a lesion in the nervous system lesion and manifestations. In his/her practice, a physician can encounter neuropathy induced by rapid improvements of glycemic control in individuals with long-term hyperglycemia. The importance of achieving glycemia as close to physiological range is undisputed, but the risk of severe pain syndrome in the lower extremities in the presence of relative hypoglycemia necessitates an individual approach in compliance with the tactics of gradual compensation of carbohydrate metabolism.

Use of pharmacological agents to preserve, restore, and improve the performance of young hockey players
Abstract
The paper presents pharmacological agents, the use of which is indicated in sports practice to improve the body's overall tolerance to high physical activity, to intensify recovery processes, and to prevent the negative effects of inadequate physical stress on the body. The biomedical support of a training process in young hockey players should ensure that pharmacological agents are reasonably used.

The world's strongest antimicrobial alkaloids in the composition of antiseptic Sanguiritrin® (0.2% alcohol solution)
Abstract
This review was devoted to the herbal antiseptic Sanguiritrin®, which consists of 2 of the 12 strongest antimicrobial alkaloids in the world (sanguinarine, chelerythrine). The antimicrobial and antiinflammatory effect of the drug is discussed. Its use with a preventive and curative purpose for infectious inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes in dentistry, otolaryngology, dermatology, neonatology, gynecology and surgery is described.

Rationale for the use of hepatoprotective agents in the treatment of psoriasis
Abstract
Current studies indicate comorbidity of psoriasis and various hepatobiliary disorders. Concurrence of psoriasis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is most frequently encountered. The paper describes common components in the pathogenesis of these diseases, which is one of the reasons for incorporating hepatoprotective agents in the combination therapy of psoriasis. The authors investigation demonstrates the advantage of a drug containing essential phospholipids and glycyrrhizic acid over conventional therapy with hepatoprotective drugs.
