A NEW METHOD FPR ASSESSING THE RESISTANCE OF A REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMN WITH A CIRCULAR CROSS SECTION

ILYIN N.A., MORDOVSKIY S.S., POTATYEVA Y.A., REZYAPKINA K.V.

Abstract

The developed method for assessing fi re resistance relates to the fi eld of fi re safety of buildings and structures and can be used to classify a reinforced concrete column of circular cross-section according to fi re resistance indicators. The essence of the proposed solution is to assess the design limit of fi re resistance of a reinforced concrete column of circular cross-section for the loss of bearing capacity under fi re conditions according to a set of single quality indicators without direct testing. The description of the process of resistance of a reinforced concrete column to fi re impact is presented by a mathematical relationship that takes into account the dimensions of the cross-section of the column, the degree of reinforcement, the intensity of force stresses, the normative strength of concrete to the resistance to axial compression and the rate of thermal diff usion of concrete. To determine the fi re resistance limit of a reinforced concrete column with a circular cross-section, an analytical expression that combines all the described indicators is proposed. The proposed method for determining fi re resistance refers to a thermal strength problem, which makes it possible to determine the fi re resistance of a reinforced concrete column of circular cross-section without full-scale fi re exposure, and reduces economic costs.

Abstract

The results of the research are presented, its tasks were the analysis and systematization of approaches to the design of buildings and structures for scientifi c research and educational purposes for specially protected natural areas (SPNA). It was revealed that Russian architectural science and design regulations do not cover this architectural-typological direction. Therefore, to search for relevant methods of architectural design, principles and techniques of volumetric-spatial organization, engineering solutions, foreign experience was involved. The study of best practices has shown that the infrastructural development of protected areas is associated with restrictions due to natural-climatic and regulatory factors, and the development of requirements for the consumer properties of objects for these territories is infl uenced by the principles of sustainable development - environmental, social and economic. Examples are given.

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT AND FEATURES OF FORMATION OF THE CENTRAL AND PEDESTRIAN SPACES OF TOGLIATTI

VERETENNIKOV D.B.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the development of the central and pedestrian areas of the city of Togliatt i, as an actual urban development trend. An analysis of all the general plans of Togliatt i showed that a high level of motorization and insuffi cient att ention to the problems of pedestrian traffi c in the city center system have formed an aggressive environment that does not promote active urban life. These problems can be solved by saturating the central pedestrian areas with additional functions. The article focuses att ention on the fact that the emergence of new att ractive places for citizens and their inclusion in the city center system will provide an opportunity for eff ective management of urban processes, with the subsequent improvement of the quality of the environment in a spatial and social aspect.

URBAN PLANNING TRANSFORMATION OF FUNCTIONAL PLANNING STRUCTURE OF SUBURBAN ZONES AND BELTS OF MEGAPOLIS. FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

GUD’ I.D.

Abstract

The article considers the features of the functional planning structure transformation of North American megalopolises in the context of the construction of inland railways. The subject of inquiry is the territories of the sett lement system formation in North America from the beginning of colonial invasions, where the interests of Great Britain, France and Spain intersected to the current stage of megacities. There is investigated the infl uence of railway transport on the development of megacities in North America. The subject of research is the Canadian Pacifi c Railroad and the US Transcontinental Railroad, which contributed to the countries urbanization and industrialization. The prerequisites for the transformation of suburban areas were the intensity of labor, cultural, household and industrial links between the center and the periphery in the meridional and latitudinal directions, formation of new kind of scientifi c and industrial complexes, multi-nodes, its infl uence on the functional planning structure of suburban areas and outskirts of megacities. The article introduces the concept of “multi-node”. Multi-nodes are multifunctional urban development complexes with transport infrastructure and engineering facilities which form a complex of terminals for goods transshipment and passengers transferring from one kind of transport to another, as well as public spaces integrated into the urban environment, scientifi c and innovative enterprises with full autonomy and communication that provides the megalopolis with energy resources. Multi-node complexes are located closely to each other and form an integral group, most often around the near-airport territories. This group may not have clear planning boundaries in the form of streets, driveways, fences, and so on. The purpose of the research is to study the sequence of the functional and planning structure formation of the city in dynamics. At the initial stage, from the linear structure of the city along the railway to a more complex ray system, and in the future - the formation of the ring type planning structures, that provide switching of traffi c fl ows on all azimuths directions. It is planning to be constructed a theoretical model of interaction between subcentres and multi-nodes in the suburban zones of intracontinental megacities.

INDUSTRIAL HEAT POWER

INFLUENCE OF CHANNEL GEOMETRY, PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE, OSCILLATIONS AND ADSORPTION ON OBLITERATION OF SLIT SEALS OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS

KRESTIN E.A., SEREBRYAKOV G.V.

Abstract

The infl uence of the geometric dimensions and confi guration of slot contactless seals on the obliteration of the gaps of plunger pairs at the design and calculation stage of drive systems of electric power systems units is considered. The combined eff ect of working fl uid contamination and the adsorption eff ect on the overgrowth of the living section of the channel was revealed. The fl ow rate during sample shedding was reduced simultaneously as a result of the channel overgrowing with contamination particles and adsorption, i.e. the formation of boundary fi lms on the channel walls. Leaks through the gap at concentric and eccentric position of the plunger in the sleeve are determined. The minimum gap is found, at which the obliteration process is stabilized and loose mud formations are washed away by the fl ow of the working fl uid. The infl uence of the pressure drop at the ends of the slot gap on the channel obliteration process was revealed. With an increase in the pressure drop, the process of stratifi cation of adsorbed layers of polar molecules accelerates, resulting in an increase in the number of contamination particles trapped in the gap per unit of time. With an increase in the temperature of the working fl uid, the process of channel obliteration accelerates, which is confi rmed by experiments. With an oscillating plunger, the fl ow through the annular gap is less than with a stationary one. This is due to the fact that the oscillating plunger occupies a position in the sleeve close to the concentric one, at which leaks are minimal. A stable fl ow rate is obtained when the working fl uid fl ows through the gaps of the plunger pairs performing reciprocating oscillating movements.
