IDIOPATHIC MALE INFERTILITY: EPIDEMIOLOFY, ETIOLOGY, PATHOGENESIS, TREATMENT
Abstract
The paper gives data on the specific features of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of idiopathic male infertility. Improved clinical, andrological, and genetic examination schemes using current reproductive technologies play a leading role in defining management and treatment tactics for patients with reproductive dysfunction.

THE IMMUNOGENETIC REASONS OF EARLY REPRODUCTIVE LOSSES
Abstract
Full discrepancy of HLA-genotypes favorably for pregnancy development. The married couples having general alleles system HLA of a class II, have a risk miscarriage pregnancy, possibly, connected with absence of the blocking antibodies formed in the beginning of pregnancy to fatherly antigens HLA.

QUALITY OF LIFE IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS WITH MULTIFOCAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS AND SECONDARY PREVENTION OF COMPLICATIONS
Abstract
The paper discusses the impact of antihypertensive therapy that not only effectively lowers blood pressure to the target level, but also improves quality of life (QOF) and exercise tolerance on QOF in patients with arterial hypertension concurrent with atherosclerotic lesions of lower extremity and coronary arteries.

SAFETY OF HORMONAL CONTRACEPTIVES: THROMBOTIC RISK AND METABOLIC DISTURBANCES
Abstract
Thromboembolic events remain to be one of the serious medical problems. The use of oral contraceptives is one of the causes of these events. The paper describes in detail the mechanisms responsible for the development of thrombosis when different types of oral contraceptives are applied.

SOLUBILITY OF DIFFERENT CALCIUM PREPARATIONS DEPENDING ON MEDIUM ACIDITY
Abstract
The pharmacokinetic parameters of oral calcium (Ca) preparations substantially depend on the gastrointestinal tract, primarily on gastric acidity, as confirmed by the comparative analysis of the solubility of inorganic (first-generation) and organic (second-generation) Ca preparations. The organic Ca preparations better dissolve in water and far less depend on the pH of gastric juice, which considerably increases Ca absorption in the body.

PERSONALIZED PHARMACOTHERAPY IN CHILDREN ON THE BASIS OF AN INVESTIGATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL RATE OF DRUG BIOTRANSFORMATION
Abstract
Pharmacotherapy problems in pediatric practice are associated particularly with the physiological imperfection of a child’s systems and organs. Genotyping and therapeutic drug monitoring make it possible to define rapid and slow metabolism genoand phenotypes, to predict the individual pharmacokinetic parameters of drugs, and to personify therapeutic algorithms.

COMPENSATION FOR POTASSIUM AND MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCY AS A WAY TO PREVENT MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION AND STROKE
Abstract
Patients with cardiovascular diseases were substantiated to be given the combination drug Panangin containing vital potassium and magnesium cations that ensure the adequate function of the cardiovascular, nervous, and other systems and organs, which permits the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke to be substantially reduced.

UDCA OR ESSENTIAL PHOSPHOLIPID MONOTHERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH ALCOHOLIC HEPATITIS
Abstract
A prospective open-label comparative randomized controlled trial enrolled 128 patients with alcoholic hepatitis and liver fibrosis. There was a more pronounced reduction in the markers of cholestasis and cytolysis during ursodeoxycholic acid therapy than in the use of essential phospholipids and in the control, as well as in the total mean of hepatic parenchymal echodensity, as evidenced by liver ultrasound elastrography.

RESISTANCE TO THERAPY FOR UNCONTROLLED ASTHMA: GENETIC ASPECTS
Abstract
Genetic and pharmacogenetic studies allow one to create marker profiles of the severe course of uncontrolled asthma, to predict the efficiency of therapy with glucocorticosteroids, β-agonists, and leukotriene receptor antagonists, and to improve the principles of individual anti-inflammatory therapy.

EXPERIENCE WITH SOTRET IN PATIENTS WITH MODERATE AND SEVERE ACNE
Abstract
Sotret (isotretinoin) is an effective medication for systemic therapy of acne, which acts on the basic components of the pathogenesis of the disease: sebum production, comedogenesis, and P. acnes colonization. The drug is recommended in cases of moderate-to-severe acne, high scarring, and ineffective traditional treatments.

COMPLICATIONS OF MIDFACIAL FRACTURES AS A FACTOR REDUCING QUALITY OF LIFE
Abstract
The paper considers different types of midfacial fractures and related possible complications that worsen quality of life. It discusses whether different specialists should be involved in the treatment of these patients and presents, among other things, an otolaryngological algorithm.

QUALITY OF LIFE ASSESSMENT IN GASTROENTEROLOGY PATIENTS
Abstract
Quality of life assessment is an important indicator of treatment efficacy in patients with different visceral diseases. The paper considers the most common methods for the analysis of quality of life and gives the results of the universal SF-36 test and the special gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (GSRS) test to assess quality of life in patients with gastroenterology pathology.

ACUTE ENTERIC INFECTIONS: WATERBORNE ROUTE OF PATHOGEN TRANSMISSION
Abstract
A list of acute enteric infections (AEI) with the leading waterborne route of pathogen transmission is defined. The causes of waterborne AEI outbreaks are considered. Proofs are given to the impact of waterborne pathogen transmission in sporadic morbidity. The periods of seasonal activation of the waterborne route of transmission of bacterial, viral, and protozoan pathogens of AEI are determined.

EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT TREATMENT OPTIONS IN PSORIATIC PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME
Abstract
The psoriatic patients with metabolic syndrome who had combination therapy using Semax, supravenous blood laser radiation, and their combination were found to have a significant reduction in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scores, which was accompanied by better quality of life.

BENEFITS OF ACTIVE DETECTION OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS
Abstract
The pattern of clinical forms of pulmonary tuberculosis and its characteristics were compara-tively analyzed in 1858 patients actively detected on verification fluorographic examination (VFGE) and in 1580 patients identified on referrals. It was shown that on active detection, the proportion of caseous pneumonia, fibrocavernous tuberculosis, and disseminated tuberculosis was 28, 6, and 1.4 times lower, respectively; that of disseminated (one lobe or more) processes, destruction, and bacterial excretion was 1.8-fold lower, the latter being half its intensity. It was concluded that it is necessary to regularly perform VFGE in the entire population.
