Hemorrhagic syndromes in newborns
Abstract
The lecture presents the main causes of bleeding in children and corresponding treatment plan. Due to immaturity of haemostatic system during pre-natal infection, obstetric complications and haemolysis of the newborns the most common consequences are prothrombin complex deficiency, neonatal thrombocytopenic purpura, and disseminated
intravascular clotting (DIC) syndrome.

Ultrasonic changes of the thyroid gland in patientswith autoimmine thyroiditis and its dynamics
Abstract
Ultrasonic parameters of the thyroid gland in 70 children with autoimmune thyroiditis are evaluated during
the first inward treatment and one year later. The first examination of the patients revealed enlarged size of the thyroid
gland, reduced echodensity and echostructure of the thyroid gland. Dynamics of the thyroid structure in patients with
autoimmune thyroiditis differed in children with euthyroidism, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.

Long-term results and quality of life in patients after pancreatonecrosissurgery
Abstract
The work is based on studying and comparison of long-term results and the quality of life in 119 patients
operated on for pancreatonecrosis. All patients were operated from 1980 to 2006 at the faculty surgery clinic using lowinvasive
technologies as well as conventional laparotomy. The long-term results were studied on the basis of objective
research methods. The quality of life was estimated processing two questionnaires: MOS SF-36 and another questionnaire
developed at the faculty surgery clinic of VolSMU, for patients operated on for pancreatonecrosis.

Optimisation of treatment of gastroduodenal ulceroushemorrhages
Abstract
Authors propose upgraded treatment of patients with gastroduodenal ulcerous hemorrhage using a scorebased
prognostic system for prediction of hemorrhage recurrence in in-patient settings, and estimation of the role played
by H. pylori- associated microflora in the development of hemorrhage recurrence. A comparative analysis of the results
of upgraded treatment in 301 patients proved its effectiveness in comparison with treatment of the 333 patients using
conventional tactics adopted at the 8th all-Russian Surgeons' Congress.

Quantitative determination of lidocaine metabolite monoethylglycinexylydidein serum by high-performance liquidchromatography using diode-matrix detector
Abstract
A simple, accurate and sensitive method of analysis of monoethylglycinexylydide (MEGX) in human serum
by high-performance liquid chromatography is described. MEGX was measured after direct injection upon addition of the internal standard (trimethoprim). The procedure produced linear curves for the concentration range of 20-1000 ng/ml
with a limit of detection 10 ng/ml. This assay produced accurate and repeatable results.

Influence of bIoflavonoids on the lipid peroxidationand liver antioxidant systems upon acute alcoholicintoxication in rats
Abstract
Hepatoprotective action of bioflavonoids (diosmin, hesperidin, flavicin, quercetin) upon the alcohol intoxication
in rats was investigated in terms of restoration of efficiency of antioxidant defense systems and the level of lipid
peroxidation (LPO). It was established that flavicin was more effective than the other drugs, normalizing the processes
of LPO, preventing glutathione depletion, increasing antioxidant enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, GSH-PX and NADPH-reductase in the liver.

Clinical and diagnostic significance of evaluationof enzyme activity of purine metabolism adenyl branchin rheumatoid arthritis
Abstract
The activity of adenosine deaminase (ADA), adenine deaminase (AD) and AMP-deaminase (AMPDA) in lymphocyte and erythrocyte lysates of peripheral blood was studied in 77 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) upon
admission it hospital, after 10-12 days of treatment and on completion of inpatient care course.
While the AMPDA and AD activity was increased in erythrocyte lysates in patients with RA upon admission to hospital, the ADA, AD activity was reduced in lymphocytes, with AMPDA activity increased.
The enzymatic studies made it possible to diagnose the activity of the pathological process and the efficiency
of a complex treatment of the patients with RA.

Influence of ТES-therapy on the cytokine profile in patientswith rheumatoid arthritis
Abstract
Decreased level of β-endorphines and increased level of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 in serum, more expressed at duration of disease less than 7 years, were discovered in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. To correct the cytokine profile
ТES-therapy combined with medication treatment is recommended for application in RA patients with increased level of IL-1β and long duration of the disease and with the increased level IL-6 and IL-10 at any duration of the disease.

Acute phase proteins lactoferrin and ceruloplasminin ulcer disease of stomach and duodenum
Abstract
The clinical and pathogenical significance of lactoferrin (Lf) and ceruloplasmin (CP) in gastric and duodenal
ulcer disease was evaluated. In acute phase of ulcer disease the level of Lf and CP was elevated 2- fold and 2,8- fold
accordingly while in remission it was normal. There were no correlation between clinical manifestations and Lf and CP level. In helicobacter-positive patients the level of Lf and CP was higher than in helicobacter-negative patients. These
findinsg suggest that the increase of Lf and CP in acute phase of ulcer disease was pathogenically beneficial and led to improved reparation of ulcer defect and increased antimicrobial resistance.

Infuence of construction of metal ceramic dentureon the retainers periodontal condition
Abstract
Cytoenzymochemical methods established that subgingival position of the edge of metal ceramic denture
crown causes neutrophilic leukocytes'lyzosome apparatus activation and provokes inflammaion in the marginal part of the gum. No manifestations of an inflammatory process in the gingival edge were detected in supragingival position of the crown edge.

Psychological aspect of compliance
Abstract
According to the results of the study, the low level of empathy in medical personnel is manifested by its contradictory attitude to the patients, which prevents them from establishing a positive verbal contact with patients, thus
reducing the patients' compliance. The communicative model medical personnel/patient suggests a response reaction, and a possibility of emotional participation in particular.

The role of activated lipoperoxydation in metastatic dissemination, cytolysis and autointoxication in the nodaland edematous infiltrative forms of breast cancer
Abstract
Activation of lipoperoxydation was revealed in the three groups of patients with nodal breast cancer (I -
IIA stages of the disease, IIB stage of the disease) and with edematous and infiltrative breast cancer without regional
metastases. Normalization of metabolism was noted neither after radical surgical treatment of I - IIА stage of breast cancer, nor after neoadjuvant polychemotherapy of patients with IIB stage of the disease or after neoadjuvant and preoperative
radiotherapy in the patients with edematous and infiltrative breast cancer.
