Tumours of the round uterine ligament

Weber F.K.

Abstract

Tumors of the round ligaments have undergone a more detailed study only in a relatively recent time. From a cursory review of the literature, it turns out that tumors of the round ligaments are far from common. Based on this, I consider myself in the right to describe here 3 own cases that I observed in the surgical department of the St. Mary Magdalene Hospital.

Crushing of blood vessels with a hemostatic purpose

Rachinsky N.

Abstract

In his book "Technique chirurgicale" Doyen presented a drawing of an instrument for crushing tissues, as a hemostatic agent; however, Doyen often throws a thin ligature over the crushed end of the vessel. This tool, which he called a vazotrib, was demonstrated at the international congress of doctors in Moscow. Faure, a surgeon at the Necker hospital, arranged a similar instrument in a smaller size, and it turned out to be able to work with this instrument with one hand.

On vaginal damage sub coitu

Gopengendler L.V.

Abstract

The case of a vaginal rupture subcoitu, which we had to observe, thanks to the kindness of Dr. Gimmelpharb, at the Odessa City Hospital, prompted us to take up a question, the view on which, thanks to the literary reports of the last 10 years, has completely changed and aroused a completely different, purely practical interest.

Pathological childbirth

Abuladze D.

Abstract

According to the view established in the sciences, we have included in the heading of premature births all cases where pregnancy was interrupted from the end of the 28th week before the expiration of the normal term. The main criterion for determining the term was, of course, the time of the last menses and the movement of the fetus in this pregnancy, ascertained by the mother for the first time. But these data alone, of course, are not yet enough to recognize childbirth as premature in each individual case. Therefore, when determining the premature termination of pregnancy, in addition to the last menses and the first movement of the fetus, we were guided by the size of the born fetus and all the objective data that are inherent in prematurity.

A few comments on Dr Massen's article titled "The question of safety and treatment in a narrow pelvis"

Matseevsky K.F.

Abstract

In the now-named article, which appeared in Doctor No. 1 of 1898, Dr Massen touched upon two issues relating to the therapy of childbirth complicated by a relative pelvic contraction, namely, the question of the statistical history of obstetric cases and the question of how to take a turn in a narrow pelvis. Both issues are among the most important in midwifery, and therefore a few comments on Dr Massen's article will hopefully not be uninteresting for most of our comrades.

Significance of tube rupture and tubal miscarriage for the course, prognosis and treatment of tubal pregnancy

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

In the last 31/2 years, the author observed 83 cases of tubal pregnancy in the inpatient department of the gynecological clinic in Halle. The reason that this disease began to be observed so often should be sought, in addition to improving diagnostics, mainly in the progressively increasing prevalence of gonorrhoid diseases.

Repeated lyaporotomy due to recurrence of tubal pregnancy

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

The main interest of this message lies in the fact that both times the author found a peritoneal adhesion, which he therefore considers to be the cause of extrauterine pregnancy.

Three cases of repeated extrauterine pregnancy in one woman

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

Having studied, on the basis of his own three observations and 31 cases of other observers, the ethology of extrauterine pregnancy, the author came to the conclusion that trying to establish a uniform reason for all cases of extrauterine pregnancy would be a big mistake, since this disease is caused by a wide variety of reasons.

New method to treat inflammatory processes in the pelvis with the help of so-called aggravating factors

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

The treatment of inflammatory and predominantly exudative processes around the uterus and its appendages should be, first of all, expectant and have for its own purpose the release of the pelvic organs from severity.

Indomitable vomiting of pregnant women

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

Understanding the indomitable vomiting of pregnant women, the author advises to sum up only those cases in which vomiting is caused and maintained exclusively by pregnancy and in which the nutrition of patients suffers. The closest cause of the disease being examined should be sought in the existence of neurosis or hysteria.

About the use of high forceps, especially with a narrow pelvis

Khazan S.Y.

Abstract

Being, as shown by a small percentage of the general use of forceps (1.9%) in the second Budapest clinic, a fully convinced supporter of conducting childbirth without internal interference, the author, however, cannot agree with the view of Münchmeuer that even high forceps give good results for both mothers and fetuses.
