Anniversary celebrations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the All-Russian State Institute of cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK), one of the leading film schools in the world, began. Officially, the date of the celebration falls on September 1, 2019, but preparations for the landmark anniversary are in full swing. Anniversary celebrations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the all-Russian State Institute of cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK), one of the leading film schools in the world, began. Officially, the date of the celebration falls on September 1, 2019, but preparations for the landmark anniversary are in full swing. The Republic of Kazakhstan became the first among foreign honors of the famous film school, where "Days of VGIK" organized by the Ministry of culture and sports of Kazakhstan were held in Astana and Almaty.

The program of stay on the Kazakh land of the delegation of VGIK headed by the rector of the University V. S. Malyshev was rich. A meeting was held with A. Dzhaksybekov, head of the presidential administration of Kazakhstan; a joint press conference was held with the participation of Minister of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mukhamediuly and rector of the Kazakh national University of art A. Musakhodzhayeva. An unforgettable moment was the discussion at the round table in the house of the friendship of Almaty, a creative meeting of Kazakh graduates of VGIK of different years, organized by the Kazakh national Academy of arts. A series of masterclasses, conducted by honored teachers of VGIK, introduced new approaches to training in the field of directing, animation and multimedia, stage movement, fine arts.

Screenings of film works of students and graduates of VGIK were successfully held. But the true triumph of the cultural program was the performances of "Much ADO about nothing" "Eugene Onegin" (the actor's workshop of people's artist of the Russian Federation I. N. Yasulovich) and ancient Russian vaudeville "Talking dumb" (author's workshop of the National artist of Russia Vladimir Menshov), shown on the stage leading theatres - "Astana Ballet" (Astana) and in the State academic Russian drama theatre.
