Ethical and cultural dominants of A.A. Ukhtomsky’s heritage: philosophical and literary context (to the 150th anniversary of the scientist and thinker)
Abstract
The study examines the legacy of the physiological scientist and thinker Alexei Alekseevich Ukhtomsky (1875-1942), the author of the doctrine of the dominant, which formed the basis of his philosophy of man as an internally growing being, who builds himself, moving towards perfection. The core of this upward movement, according to Ukhtomsky, is faith. The scientist and philosopher states the unity of faith and knowledge, like representatives of Russian cosmism N.F. Fedorov, P.A. Florensky, as well as the French paleontologist and philosopher P. Teilhard de Chardin, and substantiates his ideas both naturally and theologically, insists on the integrity of man extending the imperative of transformation to both spiritual and physical nature. Like F.M. Dostoevsky, he defends the mystery of man, which lies in the ability to see another person as an Interlocutor rather than a Lookalike, criticizes civilization and culture devoid of a religious vector, contrasting them with the ideal of collegiality and cosmic responsibility of man.

Chekhov’s novel Steppe: 1) the motif of a road as reflection of the dynamics of the child’s mental states; 2) the combination of the narrator’s voice and non-personal direct speech; 3) characterization of the child’s feelings through the outside world; 4) mimic psychologism; 5) introduction of elements of children’s etymology; 6) the use of figurative means to describe the poetic perception of the world by a child. Icons-monuments of the Romanovs dynasty of the late XIXth – early XXth centuries from cathedral and private collections of the Altai territory
Abstract
The marriage and coronation of Emperor Nicholas II as well as the centenary of the Romanovs dynasty were accompanied by opening of churches dedicated to the patron saints of the reigning persons and the spread of icons with the images of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the martyr St. Alexandra of Rome. The authors of the article examine this tradition on the example of works of icon-painting art found in the Altai region. The images of the saints belonged to the same iconographic variation, but had different interpretations in terms of arrangement of figures and decorative solutions. Icons with the faces of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the martyr St. Alexandra of Rome were often ordered and bought by peasants, which testifies to the people’s veneration of the ruling dynasty in the late XIXth - early XXth centuries.

The article provides an overview of the creative practices of Russian authors in the second half of the XXth century and the early XXIst century, which involved the use of three-dimensional artistic forms in artistic textile.
