First results of implementation of the high-priority "Health"project in the Volgograd region
Abstract
An analysis of the health status of people in the Volgograd region indicates thatthere are common tendencies
in morbidity and demographic processes associated with age-related and biological processes and lifestyle.
Over the last five years the population of the region was annually decreasing by 18,000 people. There is a disproportion
in the age and sex of the population: senior age groups prevail over younger ones, there is 863 men per 1,000 women.
Morbidity of socially determined diseases is on the increase. The main mortality factors are cardiovascular diseases,
neoplastic processes and external causes.
Calculations show that decreasing mortality rate by 20-25 % and increasing birth rate from 9.4 ‰ to 10.4 ‰ would
stop the depopulation process and stabilize demographics in the region. The high-priority "Health" project was conceived
with the purpose of achieving these goals. The paper offers information on the work done for implementation of the project
in the year 2006.

The features of endocrine status in teenage girls withobesity of various origin
Abstract
We carried out a hormonal examination of 69 teenage girls with obesity aged 17-19.
The girls with obesity
were divided into the following groups: 1 - with hypothalamic syndrome of pubertal period, 2 - with syndrome of
polycystic ovaries, 3 - with alimentary-constitutional obesity.
The analysis of our findings revealed that obesity decreased reproductive health of teenagers. We determined that
in girls with hypothalamic syndrome of the pubertal period and in those with syndrome of polycystic ovaries, hypothalamohypophyseo-adrenal and hypothalamo-hypophyseo-ovarian dysfunction is more pronounced than in girls with alimentaryconstitutional obesity.

The role of markers of the epithelial cells renewal and apoptosis in gastric diseasesassociated with H. pylori
Abstract
Рatients with gastric diseases associated with H. pylori were surveyed. All patients are divided into 4
equal groups: patients with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), gland polyps, stomach ulcer disease (SUD) and cancer of
stomach (CS). Group of comparison was made up of 12 practically healthy individuals.
It is established that SUD, CAG, gland polyps and CS are consecutive stages of disturbance of renewal of epithelial
cells of gastric mucosa, manifested in a progressing retardation of apoptosis activity from the proliferative process,
which is reflected in increased expression of Ki-67 and Bcl-2. A successful eradication of H. pylori improves the parameters
of cellular renewal. Thus the relation of apoptosis to proliferation of epithelial cells tends to become normal, which allows
us to presuppose a possibility of involution of atrophic, metaplastic and dysplastic changes of a gastric mucosa in
patients with gastric diseases associated with H. pylori.

The efficiency of the transcranial electrostimulationfor correction of psycho-physiological status in patientswith oral lichen ruber planus
Abstract
The efficiency of transcranial electrostimulation in complex treatment of oral lichen ruber planus was studied.
This investigation reveals that in treatment of oral lichen rubber planus transcranial electrostimulation brings psychological
and autonomous nervous status to normal. The results obtained prove a sufficient improvement of the indices in
psychological tests upon including transcranial electrostimulation into complex treatment of the oral lichen ruber planus.
Thus, the use of transcranial electrostimulation makes it possible to improve the efficiency of a complex treatment of the
oral lichen ruber planus.

Features of pharmacological regulation of immuneresponse disturbances caused by cyclophosphamide
Abstract
In experiments on outbred and CBA line mice we have established that such immunomodulators as
T-activine, mielopide and polyoxidonium in the dose of 10 µg/kg daily for ten days while administering cyclophosphamide
as a "dose-dense" chemotherapy invoked significant restorative activity of natural killers, antibody-dependent mediate
cell-mediated cytotoxicity, function of macrophages.

Ways of improving treatment of hepatorenal syndrome in acute abdominal surgical pathology
Abstract
Development of hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) leads to high mortality rate in acute abdominal surgical pathology
(AASP). This investigation studies the role of acute intestinal failure (AIF) in development of HRS. Experimental
and clinical studies show that in AASP first the intestine, with development of AIF, and then the liver and kidneys were
damaged. Opening of intestine, a natural reservoir of endotoxins, leads to a failure of hepatic and renal compensatory
functions and development of HRS. New data about pathogenesis of HRS in AASP allow us to develop an algorithm of
treatment, which brings down the rate of postoperative development of HRS from 34 to 27,5 % and decreases the transition
of mild form of HRS to severe form by 23 %.

Regularities in disturbance of the cellular immunity in the dynamics of breast cancer development
Abstract
Complex clinical and laboratory study of patients with breast cancer was carried out. Results obtained
made it possible to reveal general regularities as well as specific features of immune status disturbances and mechanisms
of nonspecific resistance in patients with nodal breast cancer (I-IIА and IIВ stages of the disease) and edematousinfiltrative
breast cancer (without metastases).
The regularities revealed are characterized by CD4 Т-lymphocyte decrease and CD8 Т-lymphocyte increase in the
blood. CD8 - Т-lymphocytes correlate with neoplastic histological structure and metastatic process spreading.
A considerable disturbance in the correlation of CD4 Т-lymphocytes and CD8 Т-lymphocytes was noted in edematousinfiltrative breast cancer. In case node breast cancer develops, constant and rapid decrease of T-helpers number in
blood with simultaneous increase of CD8 Т-lymphocyte percentage is considered to be the most prognostically unfavorable
factor as it shows that metastatic process takes place.
Neoadjuvant polychemotherapy treatment of patients with nodal breast cancer and edematous-infiltrative breast
cancer is accompanied by intensification of free radical oxidation process, destabilization of biologic membranes, development
of cytolysis syndrome. The latter factor calls for administration of antihypoxants and antioxidants in complex treatment
of oncologic patients; in this way neoadjuvant polychemotherapy treatment can be made more efficient.

Model for experimental study of periodontium in horizontaldisplacement of teeth
Abstract
A new experimental model with involving orthodontic apparatus of original design for displacement of canine
teeth is proposed. The result is an increase in the efficacy of displacement of the dog's teeth by means of dorsal
loads in the vestibular direction. This model can be used for studying the morphologic and functional features of periodontal
tissues in horizontal displacement of teeth, and in the retention period.

Clinical significance of investigation of purine metabolismenzyme activity in patients with systemic scleroderma
Abstract
The activity of xanthine oxidase, xanthine dehydrogenase and 5'-nucleotidases in lymphocyte lysates and
blood plasma was studied in 50 patients with systemic scleroderma upon admission to hospital, after 10-12 days of treatment
and on completion of the inpatient care course.
Considerable changes of enzyme activity depending on the intensity of pathologic process, the nature of the clinical
course and the stage of disease were clearly recognizable. As the activity of the process increased, the enzyme activity
reduced in lymphocyte lysate and rose in blood plasma.

The mammillary bodies neurons structural variabilityassociated with constitutional stress reactivity
Abstract
Study on peculiarities of mammilar bodies in rats with high and low stress reactivity was carried based on
theory of neuronal environmeht and constitutional neuromorphology. The most pronounced differences in quantitative
characteristics of neurons and their environmeht were revealed in supramammillary and ventral mammillary nuclei, which
indicates their being involved into formation of constitutional stress reactivity.

Influence of phenibut, its salts and compounds withorganic acids on exercise performance
Abstract
Phenibut salt with succine acid in the ratio of 2:1 and phenibut salt with citric acid in the ratio of 3:1 stimulated
exercise performance to a greater degree than a compound of phenibut with organic acids in the ratio of 3:3, 3:6,
3:12. It is obvious that the metabolic component induced by the presence of succine and citric acids does not play an essential
role in actoprotective action of phenibut salts.

Clinico-functional condition of liver in patients with disturbanceof carbohydrate exchange
Abstract
Evaluation of the functional condition of liver of the patients with the 1-st and 2-nd type diabetes mellitus
(DM) of different severity and duration was undertaken using clinical, biochemical and instrumental methods of investigation.
The indices characterizing cytolysis syndrome (97,8 %) and mesenchymo- inflammatory syndrome (80 %), were
changed in 1st type DM patients, while in the 2nd type DM patients the indices of cytolysis syndrome (92,3 %) and hepa
tocellular insufficiency (76,9 %) were positive. Our observations revealed the involvement of liver into the pathologic
process with steatohepatitis developed in both the 1st and 2nd type DM patients.

Hypoglycemic activity of Gymnema sylvestre extract
Abstract
Dry extract of Glymnema sylvestre is characterized by hypoglycemic activity if compared with diabeton.
Its extract lead to an increase in glucose absorption factor by isolated diaphragm in rats. It promoted a decrease in the
rate and duration of hyperglycemia in peroral glucose tolerance test. It also increases the volumetric part of pancreatic islets,
leading to a moderate hypertrophy of β-endocrinocyte nuclei.
