The present article opens the series of articles Animated poster: Periodization and Modification of the Genre’ devoted to the animated poster which has not been investigated by Russian film scholars until recently. The author gives the definition of the animated poster, reveals its main types, offers the principles of its classification, determines its origins and specific features.

The article surveys the portrayal of adultery in the Russian cinema of 1950-1990s. The theme of the crisis in romantic and family relations is matched up with the stages of the country’s social and cultural development, ideological crisis and the process of feminization of the culture.

The article examines the work of Andrey Tarkovsky in the context of the 20 th century Modernist art. Dividing the world into the profane and sacral, the time and eternity, using the motifs characteristic of the literature of the early 1900s can also be found in Tarkovsky’s films. The development of the world film modernism is inconceivable without this Russian filmmaker.

The article continues the search for the moral categories that reveal the raison d’être of literary and drama characters started in the author’s other works. It also defines the code of the time which allowed the author to determine the formula of love and show how this feeling has changed in history.

The article is devoted to the work of Isao Takahata, a Japanese animation director. A co-founder of ‘Studio Ghibli’, a representative of realistic anime, he is famous for his films “Grave of the Fireflies”, “Only Yesterday”, “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”.

The article explores financial relations in the sphere of culture. Analyzing international and domestic practice and the possible ways of its improvement, the author offers the ways of enhancing the business results of the activity of cultural institutions.

The article explores the mechanisms of using historical documentary footage in creating biographical TV shows. The author analyses the methods of incorporating ‘alien texts’ into a new cinematic text and proves the relevance of TV biographies as a unique discourse practice of memory reproduction.
