Lost in Translation: Songs in Foreign Films

The article discusses the necessity to translate songs when adapting the film for international release. While dubbing or subtitling, film supervisors and translators seldom pay attention to the translation of the songs thus depriving the audience of perceiving the director’s concept and dramatic structure to the full.
