Sphere of culture

Theatricality is one of the core principles of modern sports culture. The article, makes an attempt to determine the structural foundations of the theatricality of a sport event. Based on the distinction between activity, event and industrial dimensions of sports, the author has developed a classification that includes five levels of theatricalization (normative-dramatic, aesthetic, director-media, affective-collective and industrial-format). The results of the study contribute to the cultural understanding of sports as one of the key phenomena of the modern economy of attention.

The concepts of Russian longing and Tatar mong are similar in their supranational elements but differ in the ethnical aspect. The article examines the peculiarities of the poetic worldview of two major poets of world importance Gabdulla Tukay and Rainer Maria Rilke. The author concludes that Tukay’s mong is at the core the writer’s ethnic and linguistic identity, while Rilke’s longing is outside the German language picture of the world. While longing in Rilke’ artistic perception acquires a metaphysical character and becomes a form of spiritual dialogue between man and God, Tukay’s mong is associated with the experience of homeland, orphancy, memory, the natural world and the national song tradition.

Tchaikovsky’s operas arouse interest not only among musicologists, but also provide a rich material for interdisciplinary research in the field of cultural studies and philosophy of culture. The current article focuses on the phenomenon of pseudomorphosis in Russian culture on the basis of Tchaikovsky’s opera legacy. The author examines the theory of cultural interaction proposed by O.Spengler and compares it with Westernism (V. Weidle) and cosmopolitanism (Yu.M. Lotman), and then explicates the phenomenon of the Europeanization of Russian culture through a philosophical and cultural analysis of Tchaikovsky’s operas Eugene Onegin and The Queen of Spades. It is concluded that Westernization appears in Tchaikovsky’s operas both as a subject and as a style of artistic representation. The parallel between the main characters in Tchaikovsky’s operas and the figure of Faust, who represents the archetype of Europeanization, is revealed.

Any performance, when transferred to another stage, is accompanied by a certain acoustic adaptation, speech adjustment to the conditions of a new theater hall. Using the examples from the touring activities of the Maly Drama Theater (Saint Petersburg) the study justifies the statement that microphone amplification prevents direct contact between the actor and the audience, forming an acoustic fourth wall. The author concludes that the artistic concept of the Maly Drama Theater involves workwithout microphones even at large theater venues that require significant technical and creative readjustment from the actors.

In art ceramics, the technological solution directly affects the artistic result of the product. The article considers how knowledge about the properties of the material, glazing, drying and firing becomes the basis for independent actions of a future designer. Special attention is paid to an educational situation that arises when a technological difficulty is detected: a student fixes a defect, establishes its possible causes, clarifies significant process parameters, performs a second test and makes changes to his or her own actions. The proposed model discloses a mechanism for transforming an externally learned rule into an internal basis for meaningful technological action and can be used in designing art ceramics training cycles.

Cooperative horror games model the experiences of anxiety, risk, and failure that are characteristic of culture of success. The authors of the present study make hypothesis that games such as Lethal Company may create the conditions for the carnival ritualization of the gaming experience. Based on M. Bakhtin’s theory of carnival and autoethnography, it is shown how, faced with the monstrousness of the game world, the logic of efficiency gives way to practices of solidarity and the joint experience of comical failures, which can be considered as a way to cope with the stress of the society of achievements.

Nowadays, reading as a dynamic cultural practice is undergoing structural and functional changes under the influence of the digital environment. The article examines the contradiction between superficial digital strategies of text perception and the practice of in-depth, reflective reading. The author proves the need to rethink the mission of the library as an institution of culture, capable of integrating technological resources, supporting thoughtful reading and providing a space for meaningful interpersonal communication.

style, the vocalist’s work with a musical text, the disclosure of figurative
content and the development of artistic intelligence in a modern singer.
