THE ANALYSIS OF SICKNESS RATE OF RATS IN DIFFERENT LIGHT REGIMES

Bukalev A.V., Vinogradova I.A.

Abstract

The influence of different light regimes (constant light - LL; constant darkness - DD; standard light regime - LD 12 hours light 12 hours darkness; natural lightening of the North-West of Russia - NL) on the dynamics of life’s sickness rate, spontaneous oncogenesis and frequency of some kinds of non-tumor pathology revealed at the post-mortem examination of male and female rats was studied. It was found out that the keeping of animals in LL and NL conditions led to the increase of the number of infectious diseases, substantially faster development of spontaneous tumors and the increase of non-tumor diseases in comparison with the animals kept in LD (standard light) regime. Light deprivation (DD) led to substantial reduction of development of new growth (in 2.1 times), of non-tumor and infectious diseases in comparison with the similar parameters in standard light regime.

POSTTRAUMATIC ENCEPHALOPATHY DIAGNOSTICS BY MEANS OF EEG INDEPENDENT COMPONENTS POWER-SPECTRA INTEGRAL INDEX

Belyakov N.A., Gurskaya O.Y., Artyushkova L.V., Savintseva Z.I.

Abstract

Electroencephalograms (EEG) and case reports of 145 patients suffering posttraumatic encephalopathy have been subjected to analysis. The patients were divided into two groups: a group of patients in prolonged unconscious state (1 st, n=20) and a group of conscious patients with late effects of severe craniocerebral trauma (2 nd, n=125). Background EEG has been subjected to analysis by application of independent component analysis (ICA) and standard low-resolution electromagnetic tomography. According to maximum equivalent current density localization, the EEG independent components have been identified in frontal, temporal and occipital lobes. Both integral index (λ+θ/α+β1+β2) of EEG independent components power-spectra and effect size have been calculated for each EEG independent component localization. The average effect size of power-spectra integral index (λ+θ/α+β1+β2) has been identified for all EEG independent component localizations subjected to examination. A correlation analysis between absolute and relative index values (λ+θ/α+β1+β2) of EEG independent components power-spectra in frontal and occipital localizations and severe craniocerebral trauma outcomes ranged by Glasgow Outcome Scale has been applied to the group of patients in prolonged unconscious state, who have been followed-up (under surveillance) for a period of 6 to 18 months (1A, n=10). The results in group 1A have shown that relative values of EEG independent components power-spectra in frontal and occipital localizations are in inverse reliable correlation with severe craniocerebral trauma outcomes ranged by Glasgow Outcome Scale.

MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF ADAPTATION OF ARTIFICIAL URINARY BLADDER CREATED FROM VARIOUS DIGESTIVE TRACT COMPARTMENTS

Anichkov N.M., Komyakov B.K., Bodareva N.V., Fadeyev V.A., Sergeyev A.V.

Abstract

The results of surgical treatment of 265 patients 22-75 (57,5±1,3) years old are presented. Orthotopic cystoplasty was done in every case, and the allotransplants have been prepared from the stomach, small and large intestines. Biopsies in 150 patients were made in different periods of transplant function. A combined histologic and immunohistochemical study of the mentioned biopsies was performed. Among these biopsies 97 patterns were obtained after cystoplasty, 38 - after gastrocystoplasty, and 15 - after sigmocystoplasty. The revealed distinctions have been concerned the succession, expression degree and qualitative peculiarities of typical lesions studied in the early and late period of AUB existence. Our immunohistochemical data confirmed the adaptation and compensatory-protective entity of reorganization of all AUBs studied. Our data also demonstrated the highly expressed safety of AUB homeostasis regulation on the organ, tissue and cell levels.

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF HUMAN STEROID-PRODUCING SUB-CELLULAR FRACTIONS IMMUNE REACTIVITY IN AUTOIMMUNE FAILURE

Khokhlov P.P., Sapronov N.S., Shabanov P.D.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify and determine the immune reactivity of sub-cellular fractions of sreroidogenic cells and to measure quantitatively the organ specific autoantibodies. The high immunogenicity of microsomal fractions of human adrenal and gonad steroid-producing cells was shown as a result of investigation. The border levels for natural organ specific autoantibodies out of pathologies were established. In laboratory materials, the statistically significant increase of plasma antibodies to adrenocortical, ovarian and testicular antigens in immune mediated destruction of adrenals and gonads in humans was shown. The results are in good accordance with data of high immune reactivity of steroid genesis hydrolase enzymes. Their pathogenic role is more significant than the same of steroid hormones in states of immune pathology of the adrenal glands and gonads.

Savina V.A., Kvetnoy I.M., Kleshchev M.A., Poteen V.V., Rulev V.V., Tarasova M.A., Tkachenko N.N., Jarmolinskaya M.I.

Abstract

The objective of this study was the analysis the role of ovarian aromatase P450 in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome. The study included 30 patients with normogonadotropic anovulation due to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The comparison group included 29 women with intact ovulatory menstrual cycle. The expression of aromatase р450 by ovarian granulose cells was determined using immunohistochemical method by 10-12 day menstrual cycle, and determination of total aromatase activity using letrozole probe on day 2-3 of the menstrual cycle. Deficiency of ovarian aromatase in the PCOS was associated with a significantly smaller maximal follicle, while the total aromatase activity does not exceed of physiological limits in healthy women. Results relate ovarian aromatase deficiency characteristic of PCOS with the regulatory disruption, including hyperproduction of luteinizing hormone by the pituitary gland

INFLUENCE OF SELECTIVE AGONISTS OF V2 RECEPTORS OF VASOPRESSIN ON CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW IN PATIENTS IN RESIDUAL PERIOD AFTER STROKE

Belokoskova S.G., Tsikunov S.G.

Abstract

One of the central effects of selective agonist of V2 receptors of vasopressin, 1-desamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP), was studied in treatment of patients in residual stage of stroke. In patients in mature age and elderly neuropeptide increased the average linear velocity of blood flow in the middle cerebral artery, in basin of which has developed of a stroke. We revealed a normalized effect of vasopressin on cerebral circulation in post-stroke patients in combination with decreased neuropsychiatric disorders. These findings point to new features of vasopressin, enhance understanding of its functional role in humans and possible uses of the neuropeptide in neurological patients.
