On the operative treatment of urinary incontinence
Abstract
Involuntary discharge of urine, even in those cases when it seems to be a temporary phenomenon, is always an extremely unpleasant symptom that produces a depressing impression both on the patient and those around her, and on the doctor who is awaiting help, especially when he sees that his tryings remain completely fruitless.
On sarcomach of the uterus
Abstract
After Virchow had accurately established the concept of sarcomas in general, and in 1860 at the Berlin Gynaecological Society, the first undisputed case of uterine sarcomas was presented, confirmed by a thorough microscopic examination, a number of works on uterine sarcomas have appeared in the literature, some of which are purely caustic in nature and some provide a detailed description of the pathological and anatomical structure of tumours.

Abstract
The author, an excerpt from an essay of which I will be honoured to read today in front of an honorable meeting, is already familiar to you from one of the sessions of the past year, when I was honoured to read a chapter from his essay "On Women's Disease", a chapter "The Volume of the Anatomy of Female Genitals".
A new way to restore the urinary duct in women
Abstract
In both cases, very similar one to the other, there was a cicatricial narrowing of the vaginal lumen and cicatricial destruction of the urinary duct in a space of about 3 cm., in the section adjacent to the bladder; the end (outlet) part of the urinary duct was whole.
Gelatin as a hemostatic agent
Abstract
The property of gelatine to coagulate blood is specified in 1896 by Dastre and Floresco. The resulting gelatinous blood coagulation is able to organize itself quickly. The author, together with Cornil, experienced the nutritious and absorbent properties of gelatine and other protein substances (by marking pieces of sponge wetted in these substances, in the abdomen of dogs and observing the growth of these pieces) and came to the conclusion that gelatine takes precedence in this respect.
About bleeding in case of general infectious diseases
Abstract
The author describes two cases, where in the initial stages of measles in virgo intacta 26 years old, and the same 21 years old had uterine bleeding during several days, with the complete absence of any indications for diseases of the genital apparatus.

Two exceptional cases of complete abdominal removal of the uterus
Abstract
In one case, in 44 years of age, the uterus was removed, the upper border of which was 3 transverse fingers below the xiphoid process (the diameter of the uterus is 40 cm, its sheer length is 36 cm). It has been suggested that this is a fibromyoma.
About milk quantity by feeders

n the department for undernourished 14 nurses, feeding 14 of their own children and 50 fosterlings and performing at the same time various work on separation, were exhausted and could not deliver sufficient nutritional material for the children. Then the number of undermatched babies for the same number of nurses was reduced to 40. The results were satisfactory.
Influence of antipyrine on milk and its production
Abstract
Antipyrine was offered by Chouppe in 1877 against painful contractions after childbirth. Since then, Rivière, Touin, Philips, Guïbert, Roncaglia, Tenin, Pinzani, Boissard studied the effect of antipyrine on the composition and separation of milk and came to very different conclusions.
Is it appropriate or not to have a surgical intervention for uterine fibromes that do not give seizures in old age?
Abstract
A 57-year-old patient, who has not worn blood for 2 years and has never had abdominal pain or uterine bleeding, was operated on to remove the uterus and appendages completely (from the vagina), because the doctor who had heard of the patient preceded her with uterine fibromia.
Predictive significance of protein urine in pregnant women
Abstract
Lefouz also submits a decrease in chloride compounds in the urine of eclamptics, and Bouchard considers a gradual or rapid decrease in the content of these salts in the urine of chronic patients as a sign of impending deterioration in the course of suffering.
Treatment of incomplete miscarriage
Abstract

New observation of the milk of a healthy woman
Abstract
The author's work is divided into three parts. In the first, he draws the physicochemical properties of milk. By the way, he notes the mistake of his predecessors in the study of milk - they did not quite confuse the study of colostrum (in the first 15 days of the postnatal period) with the study of real milk.
Three cases of gas accumulation in the uterus
Abstract
Patient 33 years old, pregnant in the 9th section, arrived in a very serious condition: high body temperature, rapid pulse, putrefactive discharge from the genitals; the fundus of the uterus, distended by gases, stands at 33 cm above the navel.
Leucoplasia of the external genitalia and vagina
Abstract
The first case of this kind of illness was described in 1875 by Thomas and A. Weir, under the names folliculitis vulvaris and psoriasis vulvaris. Naibolee's detailed treatment of this suffering belongs to Reclus and Weir (1887 and 1888). Pozzi and Michaux see this sickness only as a type of senile changes in the mucous membrane. The authors, on the contrary, think that there is no relation between catarrhal changes and leucoplasia.
Pathological and anatomical changes in the liver and kidneys with eclampsia
Abstract
Since 1890, the authors investigated 19 cases of liver damage in eclamptics. From this number, the authors believe, however, it is necessary to exclude five cases in which death caused a summer, so that the rapid decomposition of corpses prevented the use of autopsy material in proper conditions.
Severe albuminuria without eclampsia
Abstract
In November and December 1896, 19 cases of albuminuria in pregnant women were observed at the Hôtel-Dieu de Rennes, of which 4 were eclamptic. On the other hand, during this time, one eclamptic was also used, in which the urine was never detected.

Indomitable vomiting and gallbladder drift
Abstract
Regarding two cases in which there was a coincidence of indomitable vomiting and copious salivation with the existence of a vesicular drift, the author asks himself whether the phenomenon of indomitable vomiting on the one hand and myxomatous degeneration of the villi on the other are not mutually dependent.
Termination of a pregnancy with a positive outcome in one case of an intrauterine emergency pregnancy
Abstract
At the first birth, 35 years old, the author diagnosed an omnivorous pregnancy; After taking the patient to his Maternité de Liège, he kept her under constant supervision for 2 ½ months and, after waiting for the normal pregnancy period, produced an abdominal section, with a live baby removed, weighing 2800 grams and 48 centimetres long.
Can the chemical composition of blood serve as an indication for the recognition of recently delivered births?
Abstract
The question will undoubtedly seem to the readers of J. Ak. and Zh.B., at the very least, strange, but he is not devoid of interest in characterizing the attitude of non-doctors, even if they were representatives of the court, to the medical case in general and to the errors of doctors in particular.
Open letter
Abstract
Above, I have sent a letter to the under-ranked throughout the Zemsky District Administration. Fully aware that the drafting of such a difficult task as the organization of obstetric care for the rural population is beyond the power of one person and that the indications that can be made by comrades who are in close contact with the population are especially valuable, I allow myself, in addition to Zemsky to doctors, especially employees in zemstvos, with a request not to refuse to report their opinion, as well as to send statistical materials and, in general, everything directly related to the matter. It goes without saying that the copyright will be preserved, and the sent documents, if necessary, will be returned, if such a desire is declared.
