The Apocalypse of Despiritualization as a Problem of Values: Based on Andrei Tarkovsky’s Creative Work

Malyshev V.

摘要

The metaphysical architectonics of the apocalypse era as a problem of cultural values is reflected in Andrei Tarkovsky’s work through polycentric culture texts, through masterpieces of film directing as a compedium of universal values. According to the author of this study, Tarkovsky’s film texts show the despiritualization of a modern person, the loss of the culture value core in the situation of a consumer society, the distortion of the very worldview at the level of the original modalities of culture, which is symbolized by the metaphysical distortion of the idea of the Trinity. The collapse of idealism, the absence of value coordinates and ideals, the dismantling of the values of altruism, collectivism, faith in something transcendent, faith in God and oneself as his likeness are the signs of a person’s loss of the inner peace, the apocalypse of despiritualization against the background of global catastrophes of the XXᵗʰ-XXIst centuries. Alongside the films Sacrifice and Nostalgia, A. Tarkovsky’s film masterpiece Stalker is especially representative in this sense.

Between A.P. Chekhov and M. Gorky: Evgeny Chirikov’s play Ivan Mironych Staged by the Moscow Art Theater (1905)

Zhurcheva O.

摘要

The study is devoted to the analysis of one of the most famous plays by E.N. Chirikov Ivan Mironych from the point of view of its reflection of Chekhov’s and Gorky’s artistic search. The process of staging the play at the Moscow Art Theater was reflected in K.S. Stanislavsky’s directing diary, where the idea of the connection between the play and previous productions of A.P. Chekhov’s and M. Gorky’s works appeared for the first time. This director’s observation makes us think not only about the peculiarities of the poetics of Chirikov’s play, but also about the place of the playwright in the context of the literary and theatrical life of his time. The common tendencies in recreation on the stage the Russian provincial life with its vulgarity, boredom, darkness of despiritualization make Chirikov’s work akin to Chekhov’s and Gorky’s theater. However, Chirikov’s characters are more modest and unassuming, their longing for the future is focused on establishing spiritual independence and does not go beyond the same ordinariness.

The Existential Theatricality of F.I. Chaliapin’s Thinking as the Basis of his Stage Skills

Iakovleva E.

摘要

Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin’s stage skills as well as the peculiarities of the performance of this singer, who created reference opera images, were largely due to the existential theatricality of his thinking. This type of thinking, when working on a role, contributed to the introducing on the stage a philosophical approach, the principles of realism and psychologism, which took into account the singer’s existential experience and the idea of synthesizing the arts in an opera production. The author of the article proves that the individual qualities of the artist (observation, intuition, imagination, contemplation of states and attention to detail), manifested in the implementation of mental operations, contributed to the conceptualization of theatrical performances and roles, which made F.I. Chaliapin an unsurpassed master of the opera stage.

Mikheeva G.

摘要

The name of V.E. Bank is not often found in library science literature, although his role in restructuring of many areas of scientific libraries operation in the 1920-1930s is highly significant.
