Smallsized water purification plant with partial demineralization

Abstract

The scheme of a smallsized finishing unit for tap water of cold water supply with a capacity of 10 liters per hour for purified water is given. In order to assess the quality and safety indicators of purified drinking water, sampling of the initial and purified tap water at the point of water supply was carried out in accordance to the GOST 31861-2012 «Water. General requirements to sampling», the GOST 31942-2012 «Water. Sampling for microscopic analysis», the GOST R 56237-2014 (ISO 5667-5: 2006) «Drinking water. Sampling at water treatment plants and in pipeline distribution systems». It has been established that the indicators of the organoleptic evaluation of samples of initial tap water and purified water were identical, that demonstrates compliance of the initial tap water supplied to the laboratory with the requirements of the SanPiN 2.1.4.1074-01. A quantitative chemical analysis of water showed that the hydrogen index changed from 7,5±0,2 to 6,4±0,2. The index of iron (Fe, total) has changed from 0,110±0,025 to less than 0,1, indicating partial demineralization. Measurements of the total salt content of the initial and final water by means of the TDS-meter showed that in different samples of the initial water concentration of dissolved substances reached a total of 180 to 220 mg/l. In purified water, this concentration decreased to 20-25 mg/l, with the norm - not more than 50 mg/l.
