Nervous and mental illness among Jews
Abstract
Jews in different parts of the world have their own special anthropological and mental differences. Even those who live close to each other in one state or part of it reveal a slightly different appearance, facial features, intonation of voice, manners, habits, worldview.
Clinics of Bekhterev's “spine stiffness”
Abstract
Since 1892 Academician V.M. Bekhterev identified as a separate nasological unit of neuropathology and lumbar spine. This disease, later called "Bekhterevskaya", attracted the attention of chapters. obr., impaired mobility and configuration of the spine: the spine seemed to be in the midst of the disease — along its entire length, stiff or almost immobile, and its configuration is quite typical for typical cases: the cervical part is in the state of lordosis, the thoracic part is b. h., in a state of equal arcuate kyphosis;
On the question of the pathogenesis of athetosis. "Athétose double"
Abstract
Cliffort Alburt first pointed out this kind of hereditary movements in 1872, and a year later Clay Shaw described their clinical picture in some detail. Currently, there are several extensive works on double athetosis — Michaϊlowsky, Haupt, Lewandowsky and others. , along with the clinical ones, the pathological and anatomical data are also given - however, the last few: Blocq collected only 9 of them until 1892, we can cite more cases of Massalongo, Pennato, Boinet, Haupt, Muratov, Fischer, Eisenlohr, Oppenheim and Mills.

Abstract
In this article, the author gives a description of the microscopic structure of the brain of an idiot woman P. Mashuta, who spent 25 years in a Moscow psychiatric clinic. Mashuta P. died in 1911 at the age of 63 years from croupous pneumonia.

Abstract
In the course of the last several years, the author had to register 228 cases of obsessive states, of which 140 fall on men and 88 on women. The most frequently encountered group consists of persons suffering from a fear of space and the so-called mental impotence.

Abstract
To study the question of the influence of age and gender on the frequency and form of mental illness, the author uses the material of the Moscow Psychiatric Clinic, in which for 25 years of its existence (from 1887 to 1912) there were 1377 sick inpatient men and women , as well as outpatient materials, amounting to 5975 patients (3739 men and 2336 women).
