TO THE TECHNIQUE OF CONSERVATIVE CESARIAN SECTION OPERATION

Ivanov A.I.

Abstract

Caesarean section, which in the previous pre-antiseptic time gave a staggering percentage of mortality, really seemed too risky an operation; according to statistics collected by Joulin in Traité d'Acouchements, this percentage, according to different authors, fluctuated between 44.5% and 66.6%. According to Lazarevich (Course of Obstetrics published in 1892), the mortality rate in the old days was 80%. After the introduction of antiseptics and mainly after the improvements in the surgical technique proposed by Sänger, the mortality rate can be so much that if the operation is performed in a good environment and by the hands of an experienced surgeon, then less than 10% is obtained; thus, Leopold's caesarean sections gave only 8% of the adverse outcomes.

Voff I.A.

Abstract

MA Voskresenskiy (from Chernigov) read "a report on 20 celiac cuts" (abstract). Despite the success of antiseptics and asepsis, gluttony seems to be a serious operation and the description of even a small number of cases deserves attention. Some remarks on the treatment of puerperal eclampsia, from practical experience

Kaplyanskiy V.

Abstract

Douglas Ayres argues that early production of venesection not only protects against threatening attacks of eclampsia, especially in more or less obese individuals, but also favors complete healing and in any case prepares an excellent ground for further therapeutic measures. The method of treatment with venesections gave the author a much lower mortality rate than any other method.

Craniotomy upon the living foetus is not justifiable

Kaplyanskiy V.

Abstract

Craniotomy, causing fetal death with terrible disfigurement of its body, is often accompanied by severe damage to the vagina and surrounding tissues of the mother. The latest advances in abdominal surgery, applied to obstetrics and gynecology, have firmly established the fact that in case of pelvic irregularities, a timely Cesarean section will always be crowned with the desired success.

On the forms of cancer of the body of the uterus, emanating from the superficial epithelium, and on the concroid of the uterine cavity

Pekarskaya A.

Abstract

Studies by Rüge and Veit have established two forms of carcinomas of the mucous membrane of the uterine cavity (the first one begins with the expansion of the lumen of the glands filled with epithelial elements, and the second begins with the increased proliferation of the glands themselves), the existence of which has also been confirmed by other researchers, and which by many are considered the only cancer found in the uterus. Piering was the first to describe a case of a primary cavity cancroid developing on the uterine mucosa, completely covered by squamous epithelium, and giving metastases to the cervix.
