Производство мороженого в России осуществляют около 250 предприятии. Среди них 60 фабрик мороженого на хладокомбинатах, 180 фабрик и цехов мороженого на молочных и других пищевых предприятиях, 10 фабрик, вновь построенных специально для производства мороженого. Особенности российского рынка мороженого - практическое отсутствие иностранных компаний (за исключением «Несшие» и «Баскин Роббинс»), большое число производителей продукции, а также равномерное расположение по территории России.
